These cases were some things they said on the YouTube show Indias Got Latent that hurt people with disabilities.
This is a help to Samay Raina and the other comedians, Vipul Goyal, Balraj Paramjeet Singh Ghai, Sonali Thakkar and Nishant Jagdish Tanwar. From Severe Reprimand to Judicial Mandate: The Court’s November 2025 Order
When this whole thing started getting looked at in November 2025 the Supreme Court was really upset with the comedians. The court had already shown it was not happy with the jokes about peoples medical conditions. The court said that jokes should not be made at the expense of peoples dignity.
The judges got so upset, at one point that they fined Raina and the others with him ₹3 lakh. This was because they did not do what they promised to do to make things right.

Over the few months Samay Raina and the people who were working with him started doing some things to make sure they were doing what the court said. Convinced that the point had been made and real work had been done, the judges quashed all FIRs and related criminal cases against Raina, Goyal, Ghai, Thakkar, and Tanwar.
One Legal Trouble Still Pending: The Ranveer Allahbadia Case
While Raina and four of the comics are clear on the SMA issue, India’s Got Latent isn’t entirely out of the legal woods yet.
The Second Incident
Raina and his crew still face a separate legal challenge over offensive comments made by podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia (known online as BeerBiceps) during a different episode of the show, where jokes were made about a contestant’s parents.
Although Allahbadia previously secured temporary protection from arrest from the Supreme Court, his separate petition to merge or dismiss those FIRs is still waiting for a final ruling.
